Why I started MANGA POST...
You see, back when I was in elementary and middle school, I was just a kid with dreams of becoming a manga artist.
Doraemon
Dragon Ball
Mobile Suit Gundam
Kinnikuman
Galaxy Express 999
Fist of the North Star
Lupin the Third
Captain Tsubasa
AKIRA
All these comics and animations shaped my childhood. Even though I didn't become a manga artist, that passion's still burning inside me.
Almost done with the inking.
I'm all set here.
I've always wondered, you know? Every month, publishing companies and manga editorial departments get over a hundred submissions from aspiring artists, all fired up and ready to go. But only a handful get picked. Were there no hidden gems among the rejected works?
Hmm...
What's up?
Are the rejected works just not good enough?
Out of 128 submissions, only 5 were chosen by the judges.
Some real gems might be getting overlooked.
Any one of those could've sparked the birth of a new manga.
I see.
Even editors are human; they can miss talent too.
Nobody really knows what a person is capable of, right?
Fired up with passion, I took the plunge and applied to a publishing house right after college.
A publishing house
So you're saying you want to be a manga editor, huh?
What's the big idea? What do you want to achieve as a manga editor?
Yeah! Let's start a magazine that only features work from newbie manga artists!
It's not just about the editor's intuition. I want to give more opportunities to readers to discover new manga!
Sounds like a blast! So, how'd it go?
Rejection letter
Look, there's only so much space in a magazine, alright? Top-tier pros already take up most of it, leaving little room for newcomers like us.
Publishers are taking a big gamble if they print thousands of copies of an unproven manga.
That's why I created you, you get me?
What!?
By posting on MANGA POST, your manga can be translated into English, Chinese, and other languages worldwide, allowing people from around the globe to read it without the cost of printing on paper. The advanced AI (artificial intelligence) implemented in MANGA POST, which uses neural networks and large language models, continuously evolves and improves its translation accuracy day by day.
Post it!
We welcome manga to be submitted, including works that were not selected for manga awards, as well as works by current housewives and office workers, as well as works that we drew a long time ago but have not shown to anyone. As long as it's a story as a manga, it doesn't matter whether you're young or old or male or female. By having readers read the story, you can change the course of the story, introduce new characters, etc. Of course, I think it's okay to pursue what you find interesting without trying to impress your readers. If you create an interesting manga and it becomes popular, please make your world debut as a manga artist.
No worries! Even if you post on "MANGA POST," you still own the rights to your art.
Feel free to share your work anywhere else, in magazines or other websites. "MANGA POST" won't claim any rights over your creations.
Let's get your new manga out there for everyone to see!
Just make sure you're posting your own original work. Just like you own the rights to your stuff, other artists own the rights to theirs.
Go ahead, show 'em what you got with your own stories and characters!
You cannot submit sexually explicit cartoons either. Please cooperate with us as elementary school students are also our target readers.
Hey! For more details, check out the terms of service.
Oh, yeah. ♡
